A national poll on nuclear energy in the United Arab Emirates sheds light on some of the highest favorable rates for the nuclear energy in the world which are higher than any other nuclear energy-producing nations.
Nuclear Energy Corporation commissioned the poll and independent global market research firm ‘Nielsen’ conducted it last year. The survey aimed to provide support to the development of efficient educational initiatives about both the United Arab Emirates’ Peaceful Nuclear Energy Program and Nuclear Energy Corporation, to provide the community of UAE with meaningful, accurate and relevant information.
A slight increase was reflected by the poll in the favorability towards the UAE Peaceful Nuclear Energy Program, from 83% in 2017 to 85% in 2018. Moreover, the poll revealed that 78% of UAE residents believe that the risks of nuclear energy are outweighed by its benefits. For the Al Dhafra Region, the poll revealed a momentous increase in favorability of the UAE program, from 84% in 2017 to 94% in 2018. In addition to this, 93% of Al Dhafra residents consider nuclear energy to be a clean, safe, reliable, as well as, efficient way for electricity production, up from 82% in 2017.
